Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has seemingly developed a knack for bold and controversial comments about Indian cricket. From taking shots at Virat Kohli and calling him a lucky player to calling Jasprit Bumrah a ‘baby bowler’, Razzaq has given several controversial comments in recent past. And he is at it once again.

The former cricketer has once again taken a shot at Kohli by saying that the India skipper cannot be compared to his Pakistani counterpart Babar Azam. The reason given by Razzaq for his comment was  “you can’t compare Indian players with Pakistan players because Pakistan has more talent.” Razzaq opined that Indian and Pakistani players should not be compared because Pakistan have produced more talented players over the years.

“Firstly, we should not say such a thing [compare Virat Kohli with Babar Azam]. You can’t compare Indian players with Pakistan players because Pakistan has more talent. If you look at our history, we have so many great players with who we can draw comparisons like Mohammad Yousaf, Inzamam-ul Haq, Saeed Anwar, Javed Miandad, Zaheer Abbas and Ijaz Ahmed,” Abdul Razzaq told Cricket Pakistan when asked to compare Kohli and Babar.

“Virat Kohli and Babar Azam are completely different players. If we want to compare the two, then it’s important to hold matches between Pakistan and India and then judge who is a better player,” he added.

I have nothing against Virat Kohli: Abdul Razzaq

Abdul Razzaq further said that he has nothing against Kohli and called the India star a good player.  He, however, urged the Pakistan cricket fraternity to stop comparing Babar with Kohli. Razzaq also lavished praise on Babar and recalled the time when the latter played under him for five to six years at ZTBL. Speaking further Razzaq hailed Babar as number one batsman  and backed him to break all the records.

“Virat Kohli is a good player and he has performed well against Pakistan. I have nothing against him but if Indians don’t compare their players with Pakistan, then we shouldn’t do that as well.”

“He [Babar Azam] played under me for five to six years at ZTBL and I never dropped him as captain. He was very talented and a very decent batsman. He proved himself [on the world stage] and is now the number one batsman. If we look after him properly, he will go on to break all the records,” he concluded.
