The Independence Cup got off to a great start with the home team Pakistan edging over the World XI side in a high scoring match. Pakistan posted a huge 197-run total thanks to an 86-run knock from Babar Azam and a 20-ball 38 from Shoaib Malik at the end. World XI managed only 177/7 with none of their batsmen converting the starts as no player from their side scored 30+.

Here we look at all the stats and records created during the game.

4 – Pakistan have won all the four T20I games they have played at home so far. Australia is the only other team to win in all the first four T20Is played at home.

10 – Imran Tahir has featured in five first-class matches and five List A games at the Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. But this T20I is his first Twenty20 game at the venue.

29*Darren Sammy’s 29* is the highest individual score in World XI’s innings. Their total of 177/7 is now the highest team total in T20Is without a 30+ from an individual. The previous highest T20I total without 30+ was Pakistan’s 169/8 against England in 2015 who had a highest individual score of 28.

51 – Runs Thisara Perera conceded in this game; the 2nd time he has conceded 50+ runs in a T20I. Perera conceded 56 runs in his four overs in last year’s T20I against Australia. In Twenty20 format, Perera has conceded 50 and more in a game on six different occasions in five different countries.

57 – Shoaib Malik now has been a part of 57 wins in T20I cricket which is the most by any player. He went past Shahid Afridi who was a part of 56 T20I wins.
