Pakistan sealed their 7th consecutive T20I series win as they took an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series with the 82-run victory in the 2nd T20I. Babar Azam’s unbeaten 97-run innings off 58 deliveries pushed Pakistan’s total to 205/3, two more than the previous game. Hussain Talat starred once again with the bat with a 41-ball 63 and also picked up a couple of wickets. Windies never looked like chasing the big score as they were bundled out for 123.

All the stats and numbers that were recorded during Pakistan’s yet another dominant win:

13 – Number of fours Babar Azam hit during his unbeaten 97-run knock. These are the joint 2nd most fours hit by a player in a T20I inning. Three players hit as many as 14 fours in a T20I innings while four players including Babar hit 13 fours.

Babar’s 13 fours are the most in a T20I innings by a Pakistan player surpassing the 12 fours hit by Mukhtar Ahmed in the 2015 Lahore T20I against Zimbabwe.


25 – Number of fours hit by Pakistan batsmen in this game. These are the joint 4th most number of fours hit in an innings in T20I cricket. The previous most number of fours Pakistan scored in a T20I innings was 22 fours on three different occasions.


45 – Samuel Badree didn’t open the bowling for the first time in his 45 T20I appearances for Windies. He bowled the third over of the Pakistan innings as a first change bowler. Badree didn’t open the bowling in one of the two T20I games he played for World XI in the 2017 Lahore T20I.


97* – Babar Azam’s unbeaten 97 is the 3rd highest individual score by a Pakistan player in a T20I game. Ahmed Shehzad scored 111* against Bangladesh in the 2014 WT20 game and 98* in the 2013 T20I game against Zimbabwe.

Babar’s 97* is the highest individual score in this format in Pakistan surpassing Ahmed Shehzad’s 89 in the last year’s Independence Cup against World XI.


205/3 – Pakistan’s total of 205/3 in this game is their highest total in the T20I format. Their previous highest total was 203/5 against Bangladesh in 2009 and also against Windies yesterday. Pakistan’s top three T20I totals have come at the National Stadium in Karachi only.

Pakistan became the first team to post 180+ total in four consecutive T20I matches as their previous three totals in the T20I format read 203, 181 and 201.
