The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), recently, appointed a star-studded coaching panel for the National High-Performance Centre and six cricket associations. Pakistan’s first-class standards have come under the pump as the national team is languishing at seventh in the ICC’s rankings for Test teams. Azhar Ali and Co have even strained in their ongoing Test series against England.

As far as the coaching panel is concerned, Mohammad Yousuf, Pakistan’s fourth-highest run-scorer in Tests, has been appointed as their batting coach. In his career, which spanned 12 years from 1998 to 2010, he notched over 16,000 runs. On his appointment, the veteran also expressed delight and sounded excited to start his ‘second innings’ with intent and optimism.

“I am delighted to have been offered this opportunity and I firmly believe I can help young cricketers by transferring my knowledge and experience, which I have acquired after being part of one of the brightest and formidable eras of Pakistan cricket,” he said.

The PCB has, meanwhile, put forth some guidelines for the coaches at the HPC in Lahore. As per reports in Pak Passion, they have been prohibited for running their own YouTube channel. The coaches have been advised to follow the rules from the PCB.

A number of former Pakistan cricketers, including Inzamam-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Shoaib Akhtar and many others keep on sharing their opinions on various cricketing matters around the world. On plenty of instances, their comments courted controversy owing to which they had to face backlashes as well.

Pakistan’s domestic cricket consists of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, National T20 Cup, Pakistan Cup One-Day Tournament, and the National U19 cricket tournament.
