PCB launches new Pakistan jersey for Asia Cup 2018

The hype surrounding the 2018 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is on an escalation as the tournament is four days away. The opening match is scheduled to be played between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 15. The event’s marquee clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan will be played on September 19 at the same venue.

India are the defending champions and will be keen to stay put in the domination in the multi-nation extravaganza. On the contrary, Pakistan didn’t have an overwhelming outing last time around. Albeit they won against UAE and Sri Lanka, they couldn’t evade defeats against India and Bangladesh. Subsequently, the finished third on the points table and were knocked out.

PCB comes up with attractive jersey

Last time, it was former cricketer Shahid Afridi, who led the time and this time around, Sarfraz Ahmed will be the skipper. Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a 16-man squad for the tournament. The team’s bowling lineup looks a lethal one as it has the likes of Mohammed Amir, Hasan Ali, Junaid Khan who have the ability to rip apart the best of batting lineups.

Teenage sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi will also be one of the players to watch out for. Moreover, the focus will be on left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman, who has been on a run-churning spree of late. Pakistan won their erstwhile T20I triangular series in Zimbabwe, featuring Australia and the hosts. In the meantime, the PCB has launched the jersey for the Asia Cup.

It has the logo of Pepsi, which has been featuring in their cricketing outfit ever since the 1990s. The apparel also has the logo of Brighto, a Pakistani paints manufacturing company, headquartered in Lahore. Moreover, it has the symbol of the Asia Cup on its right side.
