Piers Morgan gets trolled after his Thank-you tweet to Virender Sehwag
2 Min Read

English journalist Piers Morgan has made it a habit to feature in the news these days. His Twitter banters with former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is something that kept the cricket fans entertained throughout the year of 2016. He shot into the news headlines when he commented on India’s celebration after winning a couple of medals in the Rio Olympics.
Virender Sehwag was left absolutely unimpressed with the tweet and soon decided to take on the British journalist. In a reply, Morgan gave an open challenge to the Indian batsman as he wrote, “Hi @virendersehwag, I bet you 1 million rupees to charity that England wins a ODI World Cup before India wins an Olympic Gold. Accept?”
This did not go down well with the Indian cricket fans and Virender Sehwag in particular. What followed next was a series of trolls that the two celebrities aimed at one another. The Brit often targeted Sehwag’s grammatical mistakes and the cricketer was spot on, in citing how England have failed to win the World Cup despite being the founders of the game.
Recently, on the new year’s eve, Virender Sehwag had asked his fans to tweet their best moments that they have had with him. He wrote, “Tweet the best moments you had with me this year. How did I contribute to joy in your life ? Please share tweet screenshots, moments u liked.”

Morgan took very little time to come up with a tweet in reply. Morgan tweeted, “You got me trending in India for days & 1000s of new followers. Thanks mate.”

@piersmorgan The number of "followers" you have does not make you better than anyone else. Hitler had millions, Jesus had 12.
