The preparations for the first Day-Night Test are gearing up and players of both the teams are excited to be a part of the historic Test match which is scheduled to be played at Eden Gardens from November 22 to 26. BCCI chief, Sourav Ganguly, had earlier made it clear that the SG balls will be used for the landmark game under the lights. Also, BCCI has asked the manufacturer to provide six dozen pink balls in the upcoming week.

Rohit Sharma, who got a great start as an opener in Tests against South Africa, is also looking forward to the first Day-Night Test. During an event, he shared his experience while playing with the pink ball during a domestic tournament.

Rohit Sharma is excited for Day-Night Test

On the sidelines of an event when he was asked about how it felt when he played with the pink ball for the first time in a match. Indian opener recited that he had played with SG balls and it was a great experience for him. He is excited to be a part of it. “Very excited as it is the first time. I can’t say about others, but I played one match in Duleep Trophy with the pink ball and it was a good experience. The opportunity has come and will try to do well and win the game,” Rohit said as quoted by Outlook India.

He was also asked about the fact that how it is to be a stand-in skipper in the absence of Virat Kohli. The 32-year-old gave a brilliant answer and said that it is always an honor to lead Team India. He also added that while growing up he had a dream of playing for the country.

“These (things) are not in our hands. One or 100 matches, it is an honour. When we were growing up, it was all about playing for the country. I have captained the team and the experience has been good and I don’t think about how long I should be made captain. Whenever I get the chance to captain the team, I try and enjoy that,” Indian opener quoted.

Rohit Sharma looked in his prime form against Proteas and will try to replicate it against Tigers.
