The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja and his wife Rivaba’s initiative to help unprivileged girls on the occasion of their daughter’s birthday. On the 8th of June, the star all-rounder declared that his wife had opened 101 Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts at the Jamnagar post office to celebrate her daughter Kunwaribashree Nidhyanaba’s 5th birthday. Jadeja also thanked PM Modi and Minister of State for Communications, Devusinh Chauhan, in his Twitter post.

Rivaba Jadeja has been seen at the Jamnagar post office and is working on her initiative for the welfare of underprivileged girls in the area. The couple has deposited INR 11000 in each of the 101 accounts. Earlier, Jadeja was also hailed for his efforts to help needy families during the Covid-19 pandemic. PM Modi had hailed Jadeja and his wife’s contribution towards social welfare in a letter even that time.

“It is heart-warming to learn about your gesture of opening Hundred and One Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts in the post office for 101 girls. The Philanthropic Initiative to make the initial deposit in every account to celebrate the 5th birthday of your daughter, Nidhyanaba, is admirable. May you continue to contribute towards the larger good of the society. Such voluntary efforts will generate a positive message within the society and inspire all,” the letter read.

Ravindra Jadeja is included in the 2022 Asia Cup squad

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old all-rounder had poor outings with both bat and ball with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL) season. He relinquished captaincy duties during mid-season after CSK’s poor run of form. He returned to form and smashed a hundred in the Edgbaston Test last month but took only one wicket in a total of five matches on the England tour.

Jadeja featured in just two matches in the recently won T20I series against West Indies, where he scored 43 runs and took two wickets. Jadeja is part of India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming 2022 Asia Cup tournament and will be eager to perform before the 2022 T20 World Cup in October-November.
