Shahid Afridi has so far made his presence felt in the ongoing third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) while featuring for Karachi Kings. Though he has failed with the bat, his bowling has come to the fore big time and even his fielding has inspired a lot of youngsters. But Karachi Kings were dealt with a severe blow when he was temporarily ruled out of the tournament due to injury. However, the coach of the team Mickey Arthur is left frustrated over the same as it will be very difficult to replace a player like him.

Afridi is amongst the highest wicket-takers of the tournament this year and recently helped his team defend the middling total of 159 against Lahore Qalandars. He picked the key wickets with the ball in hand and returned with the figures of 3/19 after his four overs. They are unbeatable so far in the league and will be aiming to continue in the same vein even without their gun player.

Arthur disappointed

Mickey Arthur was not happy after hearing about the injury news of Shahid Afridi as he was in great form for his team. “It’s very frustrating. The adrenaline goes away in the dressing room. Afridi is going for an MRI tonight. He felt something in his knee during the warm-ups,” he was quoted as saying by Express.co.uk on Saturday.

Earlier, Afridi had apologised to his fans on Twitter for not being able to play the last game of Karachi Kings against Multan Sultans which was eventually washed due to rain. They will face Islamabad United in their next encounter which will be played on Sunday and it will be interesting to see which player fills in the shoes of the veteran. The balance of the side will surely be affected now but the other players have to step up to the task.
