The final date for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) teams to release the list of retained players was November 13. The franchises were allowed to retain a maximum of 10 players from the squads they’d constructed in the previous season. The 10 had to be distributed among the various categories. A team could retain only three players from the Platinum category and as many from Diamond and Gold categories. The number was five for Silver and two of the emerging players could be retained as well.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also decided to forfeit the ownership of the debutants from 2017 Multan Sultans. They will once again auction the franchise and in case the board doesn’t find a suitable buyer the team will still exist under the PCB banner. As far as the players draft for PSL 2019 is concerned the date is November 20.
