Peshawar Zalmi, the defending champions, didn’t have the greatest of starts in this edition’s Pakistan Super League (PSL). The Darren Sammy-captained team lost to Quetta Gladiators after not being able to stop Umar Akmal, who played a match-winning knock during the run-chase. Their next match is against Lahore Qalandars in the second of tomorrow’s doubleheader at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The Qalandars, on the contrary, couldn’t hold their nerves against defending champions Islamabad United. Even in their next match against Karachi Kings, they floundered with the bat in hand and were restricted to a below par. However, Lahore made an incredible comeback in the second innings. Even when their bowlers didn’t get wickets, they made sure that runs weren’t leaked, thereby building pressure.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch hasn’t had many demons for the batters to get petrified about. Teams have won, both batting first and second. Sides may still want to bowl first bearing in mind the fact that dew may play some part in the second half.
