Hasan Ali and Babar Azam, on Monday, June 14, were involved in a fun banter during the match between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. During the 17th over of the Kings’ innings, Azam’s handkerchief fell on the pitch. Hasan, who was into his run-up, was a tad distracted and he pulled away from delivering the ball.

Hasan, however, didn’t stop. He went up to Babar, picked up the handkerchief, and put it inside the latter’s shirt. Babar had a laugh about the incident as he picked up the piece of clothing and put it at the back of his trousers. Babar was the standout batter for the Kings as he notched a 54-ball 81 with seven fours and three sixes and also shared a 117-run stand with Najibullah.

However, his knock went in vain as the United chased down 191 with eight balls to spare. Interestingly, it was Hasan, who dismissed Babar in the penultimate over. Babar and Hasan have played loads of matches together for Pakistan and their friendship was palpable.

Hasan Ali to stay for the remainder of PSL 2021

Earlier, it was learned that Hasan pulled out of the remaining PSL matches due to family reasons. However, later, he changed his decision and decided to play the games. He also credited his wife for taking care of the problems at home.

“I was going through a personal family issue, which has been resolved thanks to my wonderful wife. She has assured me she will take care of it and wants me to concentrate on my cricket and my career. Hats off to such a wonderful partner,” Hasan was quoted as saying.

“She has always stood by me through the hardest times and after consulting with her I have decided to stay on with Islamabad United for the remainder of PSL 6. I would like to thank Islamabad United for their support and understanding during this tough period,” he stated.

Islamabad United Owner, Ali Naqvi, was also happy to have Hasan back in the mix. “It is fortunate for us that Hassan will be available for us through the rest of the tournament. But more importantly, we’re happy that whatever issues there were have been resolved,” Naqvi said.
