After the extravaganza of Abu Dhabi T10 League, Qatar is set to serve another enthralling experience for the fans of the shorter formats. A total of 6 teams will be eyeing the ultimate prize in the fast-paced league. The tournament will be played in a round-robin format followed by semifinals and the final.

All the teams will be eager to kick off their campaign in style. The second clash of the tournament will be between Desert Riders and Swift Gallopers. Desert Riders’ will be led by Sohail Tanvir, who has a considerable amount of experience under his belt.

Luke Wright is expected to emerge as the talisman for Swift Gallopers. The all-rounder was in sublime touch in the recently-concluded Abu Dhabi T10 League. Wright has scored 188 runs in his last five matches including a half-century. Imran Nazir, who has played for the national side, will be steering their batting line-up.

The second match of the day will be played between Falcon Hunters and Heat Stormers at the same venue. Falcon Hunters comprise a formidable batting attack including the likes of Salman Butt and Hashim Amla. Amad Butt could also emerge as a match-winner for his side.

On the other hand, Heat Stormers will rely on the batting and keeping forte of Mohammad Shahzad. He will be joined by Manpreet Gony, who also has adequate first-Class experience under his belt. As most squads comprise a majority number of players from Qatar, they will be hoping to witness the brilliance of home-grown talent as well.

The West End Park International Cricket Stadium also referred to as Asian Town Cricket Stadium hosted six Men’s T20I matches in 2019. Most of the matches recorded totals around 160. The venue stood host for Women’s Internationals previously which were low scoring ones. Since this tournament is played in the T10 format, we could see batting tracks. Pakistan veteran Kamran Akmal can also be a threat to the opposition.
