The registrations for the same have opened today and will remain open until Tuesday, October 9 or when filled, whichever is earlier. The panel of scouts, headed by Zubin Bharucha, includes Royals’ coaches Sairaj Bahutue and Amol Mazumdar and a couple of local selectors.

The team will play in various reputed tournaments

Their task will be to shortlist aspiring cricketers from a pool of registered cricketers after which the Royal Colts team, consisting of 16 players, will be announced. The trials will take place at Neerja Modi School, Jaipur. The candidates can register themselves via online registrations on RoyalColtsTrials and the candidates will be informed about the date, time, local and other details regarding the trials through SMS and email.

The selected team will then undergo training and get to play with junior teams from India and around the world. Zubin Bharucha – Head of Cricket, Rajasthan Royals, updated more about the initiative.

“At the Rajasthan Royals, we are passionate about developing talent. Since the start of the IPL, we have invested in youth and subsequently launched many players onto the international stage. We are excited to unearth the next group of Indian stars through this Royal Colts programme,” Bharucha mentioned.

“The idea is to find fresh young talent and make a team which would compete under the banner of Royal Colts. The team will play in various reputed tournaments and competitions across the country and abroad,” said Rajeev Khanna, the Vice President of the Rajasthan Royals.
