The fourth day in the sixth round of Ranji Trophy 2019-20 culminated with many teams cruising to the victory. Most teams had registered a victory on Day 3 itself and the remaining teams accomplished the task on Day 4.

The encounter between Bihar and Meghalaya resulted in a draw after bad light stopped the play after lunch. After Bihar declared their second innings on the score of 361 runs, Meghalaya retaliated on the back of some impressive batting performances by Purajit Mandal (43) and Puneet Bisht (48).

Meghalaya’s scoreboard reflected 138/2 before bad light intervened in the match. Similarly, Nagaland and Mizoram had to also settle for a draw as Day 4 action failed to kick off due to wet outfield. Mizoram grabbed three points while Nagaland picked up a single point after the match was declared a draw. G Lalbiakvela was adjudged Man of the Match for his stellar bowling display as he picked up five wickets to dismantle Nagaland’s first innings.

Mumbai and Himachal Pradesh also had to settle for a draw after the match failed to resume on the fourth and final day. Both teams had grabbed a point each. Mumbai’s Sarfaraz Khan was named Man of the Match for his sublime double century in the first innings. Gujarat, on the other hand, cruised to the victory over Vidarbha on the back of impressive batting performances from Manpreet Juneja and Parthiv Patel on the final day. Skipper Parthiv Patel scored an unbeaten knock of 41 runs and stayed till the end to ensure Gujarat a four-wicket victory.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra registered a thumping win against Tripura after curbing the latter on a total of 290 runs on Day 3. Maharashtra kicked off their Day 4 in a stable manner as skipper Ankit Bawne steered his side to the win. Bawne smashed a gritty half-century to cruise his side to the victory. He was also awarded Man of the Match for his performance.

Odisha also registered a convincing win over Assam. The Odisha bowling force dismantled Assam in their second innings as they could only amass 195 runs on the board. Debabrata Pradhan was the pick of the Odisha bowling attack as he scalped seven wickets in the match.

Karnataka registered a 10-wicket victory after dominating Railways batting attack in both the innings. After sweeping Railways on a modest total of 79 in their second innings, the opening duo of Rohan Kadam and Devdutt Padikkal guided Karnataka to the victory on the final day. Ronit More was adjudged Man of the Match as he scalped six wickets to shatter Railways’ second innings.
