The prolific Pakistan stumper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has become a vital cog in the country’s batting unit. However, things have not been easy for him as it took him years to gain enough limelight to be able to break into the national side. This becomes quite evident by the fact that Rizwan carries immense experience in the domestic circuit. As a result, he was able to make his debut post World Cup 2015.

Speaking of his international cricket journey, his story sounds as if stars aligned to make his debut happened rather unexpectedly. The then-Pakistan Skipper Sarfaraz Khan was forced to sit out due to getting banned for five games, when Pakistan were touring South Africa and consequently, Rizwan got the chance to play for Pakistan. Though, he could not make much impact in his initial years, the crafty batter has come good in the past year. Mohammad Rizwan has scored 544 runs from 16 appearances with an impressive average of 51.05. During this span, the keeper has smashed five fifties.

While speaking of his performance in the ongoing year, he has collected 343 runs from 8 matches. It is worthy to mention that due to his improved strike rate and average, he has been one of the best openers and anchors in international cricket. So far Rizwan has averaged 68.60 with three half-centuries.
