New Zealand’s current head coach Gary Stead has been the unsung hero of the team ever since he has taken over the reins of the team. Mike Hesson’s sudden exit in 2018 was a blow to the BlackCaps ahead of the World Cup. However, Stead took over almost seamlessly and his association with Kane Williamson has worked well for the team thus far.

The Kiwis put up an exceptional show in the mega event last year and made it to the final as well. Unfortunately, they didn’t win the World Cup despite not losing the final, the controversial game, which went into the super over. Stead has always worked behind the scenes and is also known for doing well during his stint with New Zealand Women’s team.

New Zealand recently blanked the world’s number 1 Test team in the two-match series at home. Stead will be keen on making the difference to the team in the near future.
