Ranveer Singh is one Bollywood actor who has been seen sharing light moments with cricketers – both current and former on many occasions. The 33-year-old ‘Padmavat’ actor has recently posted a cheerful photo on social media with former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni where he has called him “The Greatest”. The two recently met in Mumbai and they were also accompanied by singer Rahul Vaidya who also posted another picture of the trio.

Singh, one of the most popular Bollywood heroes in recent times, has a film coming up on cricket in which he will play the legendary Kapil Dev. Directed by Kabir Khan, the sports drama called ‘83’ will release in April 2020. The actor is currently working on Rohit Shetty-directed ‘Simmba’ which is a remake of ‘Temper’ – a Telugu blockbuster from 2015. The film is produced by ace filmmaker Karan Johar and will hit the screens in December this year.

Ranveer calls Dhoni the ‘greatest’

Singh sported a moustache and a pair of old-fashioned gold-framed spectacles in the selfie he posted with Dhoni and he captioned it, “Good Times with Mahi Bhai #Lionheart #MSD #TheGreatest.” Dhoni is seen wearing a black T-shirt in the picture.

Dhoni’s break about to end

Dhoni is nearing the end of his break from cricket since playing the third ODI against England in July. The former Indian captain, who plays only ODIs and T20Is now, will don the blue jersey again in the Asia Cup due to take place in the United Arab Emirates from next week. India will take on arch-rivals Pakistan  in the two-week tournament and they will be led in the tournament by Rohit Sharma as their regular skipper Virat Kohli has been rested for the upcoming tour of Australia.

Although there has been criticism against 37-year-old Dhoni in the recent time over his sliding batting form, India will be depending on him to lend some solidity to their middle order in the upcoming tournament.
