Adelaide Strikers pulled off a thrilling victory against the Melbourne Stars in the semifinal clash of the Big Bash League. With 3 needed off the last ball and the dangerous Kieron Pollard on strike, Ben Laughlin managed to beat him. With just a bye scored, the Strikers burst into celebration as they sealed a spot in the finals.

However, the Adelaide Strikers are all set to miss the services of Rashid Khan for the final. As they enter into the Adelaide Oval to face the Hobart Hurricanes, they’ll be missing a star bowler in the Afghan player. The right arm spinner would be off for national duty as Afghanistan versus Zimbabwe series kicks off.

Rashid Khan thanks everyone for their support on Twitter

Having picked figures of 1/28 in his four-over quota, Rashid Khan had been exceptional undoubtedly. The 19-year-old has been the joint highest wicket this season alongside Dwayne Bravo from the Melbourne Renegades. With 18 wickets at a magnificent bowling average of 13.83 and an exceptional economy under six, Rashid Khan continues to outfox batsmen at his will.

As he departed for the national duty, he took off to Twitter to thank everyone for the support. Rashid Khan conveyed his best wishes to the Strikers ahead of the all-important final. Here’s what he tweeted:-

“@StrikersBBL  IN FINAL NOW. Thank you sooo much everyone from your support love and great hospitality throughout tournament Have to leave for my national duty cant wait to come again next year @BBL @StrikersBBL @dizzy259 @travishead34  BEST OF LUCK iN FINAL”

The Afghan player also grabbed a splendid deal at the IPL Auction. After a tug of war between the franchisees, Rashid Khan was sold for a whopping ₹9 crores. The Sun Risers Hyderabad made used of their RTM card to make sure he was coming back to the Hyderabad franchise. It will be interesting to see him in the Indian Premier League this year.
