In 2015, when Rashid Khan made his international debut, everyone saw the raw talent which the spinner possessed. He was just a 17-year-old boy from Afghanistan back then. Four years from that time, Rashid is probably one of the most feared spinners in World cricket. Now, 21-year-old, Khan has achieved a lot of things which a cricketer would only dream to have by the end of his career.
He has made a name for himself throughout the world. There isn’t a T20 league in which Rashid hasn’t impressed everyone. From IPL to BBL to CPL to MSL to English county, Rashid has played in all of them. His journey has been quite inspirational and his achievement is inspiring an entire generation of young boys and girls to take up the sport.
As the world has gone down in complete lockdown, CricTracker decided to catch up with the Afghanistan superstar via an Instagram live session. Followers of CricTracker posted several questions for the leg-spinner, and our host Roshini made sure she got the answers of those from Rashid.
Rashid Khan names the famous Bollywood star as his favourite actor
Khan, who spends almost two months in India every year for the IPL, takes a lot of interest in Hindi movies. As he can speak and understand Hindi, Rashid had previously revealed that he enjoys watching Bollywood movies. When our host asked Rashid who was his favourite actor, the young leggie chose a famous Bollywood actor.
Rashid revealed that he enjoys watching Aamir Khan on the silver screen. He was also asked whether he can reenact a famous dialogue of Aamir Khan, to which he replied, “I can’t remember any dialogue right now.”
Apart from this, he was also asked which was his favourite holiday destination. Rashid chose Maldives as his favourite place to go on holiday. When he was about the favourite stadium, he chose two of the most iconic grounds as his favourites.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad player revealed that his favourites grounds are Adelaide Oval and the Lord’s cricket ground in London. “Lord’s would be one. Another one would be the Adelaide Oval. On a new year’s game, there are at least 50,000 to 60,000 people at the stadium. The atmosphere is good and electrifying. I have enjoyed my time at the Adelaide Oval very much”, Rashid Khan said.
Rashid plays for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League in Australia. He has been regular for the past three seasons. Earlier this year, he even picked up a hat-trick for his side at the Adelaide oval against Sydney Sixers.
