During the mega event, they gave India and Pakistan a run for their money, but couldn’t win. The 3-0 series whitewash at the hands of West Indies summed up their miseries in 2019. Afghanistan have also faced turmoil in their team management.
Asghar Afghan started the year as the skipper before Gulbadin Naib was appointed as captain for the World Cup. After Naib failed, Rashid Khan was given the mantle. In December, Afghan re-donned the leader’s hat, to everyone’s surprise.
