Ravi Shastri vows to stand alongside the Kerala Flood sufferers

The 56-year-old also shared details of the place where people can contribute for the wounded.

Kerala is currently paining through one of the darkest phases of their history owing to heaving to the floods courtesy of the heavy rains. The rainfall was expected to measure around 244.1 mm, but it has turned out to be a humungous 619.5 mm. To add to the agony of the state’s people, the same is speculated to continue for a few more days.

The death tolls have increased at the rate of knots and as per the latest updates, the number has reached 196, which includes 22 deaths on Saturday. Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan previously mentioned the incident as a dreadful occurring. Narendra Modi, the Honourable Prime Minister of the country, announced a relief of 500 crore for the sufferers.

Cricketer Sanju Samson, who hails from Kerala, donated Rs 15 lakhs towards the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. Samson Vishwanadh, his father, and his brother Saly Samson met CM Vijayan and submitted the cheque to him on Sanju’s behalf. The 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman also told that the donation was for the sake of helping the victims and not for gaining publicity.

Many other cricketers like Danielle Wyatt, Eoin Morgan, and AB de Villiers, have also requested the people to support the victims on their tumultuous times. Most recently, Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, has also poured his heart out on the dreary state of Kerala. The former Indian cricketer has been a recipient of severe criticism after India’s loss against England in the first two games.

The 56-year-old also shared details of the place where people can contribute open-heartedly for the wounded. He took to Twitter and wrote, “My thoughts & prayers are with the people of #Kerala during this difficult time. We all pray for the safety and wellbeing of our countrymen. Join me in contributing to the CM Distress Relief Fund. Details here -”
