Team India registered a 203-run win the first Test against South Africa to maintain their unbeaten streak in the ongoing World Test Championship. India have played three games so far in the Championship and won all three of them quite convincingly. Coming to India’s win over Proteas, Rohit Sharma was awarded the player of the match for his twin tons in the game.
Ravi Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Mayank Agarwal and Ravindra Jadeja did their part to help Team India register a big win against the African side. Ravindra Jadeja picked six wickets in the game, two in the first innings and four in the second innings. Jadeja’s sister Naina was elated after witnessing her brother’s performance in the Vishakapatnam Test.
“Jaddu was brilliant. Everyone has performed to his ability. The total output of the team was outstanding. In Test cricket, Jadeja has been performing really well. He has been a balanced player. His batting has improved a lot. Jaddu is improving his game daily,” Naina Jadeja said as quoted by Times of India.
‘Almighty blessing Jadeja’
After picking Dean Elgar’s wicket in the first innings, Jadeja became the quickest left-arm bowler to scalp 200 wickets in Test cricket. Naina feels that the almighty is blessing the Indian all-rounder and she credited Virat Kohli for backing her brother.
“I am very happy that he became the quickest left-arm bowler to scalp 200 Test wickets. As Navaratri is going on, we can say the almighty is showering her blessings on him. Because of Jaddu, we feel very proud. For many years, Kohli and Jaddu have been playing together. It is really nice to see the skipper backing him,” she said.
Jadeja and the current Indian skipper Virat Kohli have known each other since the successful U19 World Cup back in 2008. Naina said that it is nice to see how the Indian cricketer always backs Jadeja and gives him opportunities to shine as a batsman, “They have both played together ever since the U19 World Cup in 2008. Jaddu has been given an opportunity to showcase his batting skills,” she said.
After winning three in three in World Test Championship, Team India got invaluable 160 points and are leading the points table.
