COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc all across the globe in the past few months. The coronavirus outbreak has taken a toll on the health of millions, causing a disrupting situation in the world.

More than 20 million confirmed COVID-19 cases have been registered worldwide. Talking about India, the death toll has crossed 45,000 and over 2 million positive cases have been registered so far. With a surge in COVID-19 cases, maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask are being considered the new normal.

Raviba, wife of India international Ravindra Jadeja, entered into a heated argument with a police constable over not wearing a mask. The incident took place in Rajkot on Monday when the cricketer was driving the car. He was wearing a mask but his wife Raviba wasn’t, leading to the police constable asking her the reason for not wearing a mask.

After the argument, head constable Sonal Gosai complained of uneasiness

Head constable Sonal Gosai stopped the car at Kisanpara Chowk after noticing that she was not wearing a mask. What followed was a heated argument between the two.

“Our primary investigation has revealed that Rivaba Jadeja was not wearing a mask. While it is a matter of investigation why the issue escalated, we have learnt that both the parties entered into a verbal spat,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Manoharsinh Jadeja as quoted by India Today.

After the argument, head constable Sonal Gosai complained of uneasiness and was taken to a nearby hospital, revealed the DCP. Gosai was discharged after half an hour and her health is fine now, said the officer, adding that no FIR been lodged yet over the matter.

Jadeja will be seen in action in the thirteenth edition of the IPL, slated to be played in the UAE from September 19th. Considering a surge in COVID-19 cases across the country, the BCCI was left with no choice but the shift the tournament to a different country altogether.

Jadeja is an integral part of MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings. In 2012 IPL player auction, Jadeja was bought by Chennai Super Kings for approx. Rs. 9.8 Crore, making him the most expensive player of the year’s auction.

The left-handed all-rounder has played 170 IPL games, amassing 1927 runs and scalping 108 wickets. He also has 3 four-wicket hauls and a five-wicket haul under his belt. Along with skipper Dhoni and Suresh Raina, Jadeja is also expected to play a crucial role in CSK’s title heist on the UAE soil.
