Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered their sixth loss of the tournament this season after a defeat against the Punjab Kings in Match 60 on Friday (May 13). During the game, RCB batter Rajat Patidar hit a massive six off the bowling of Harpreet Brar which sailed into the crowds handsomely but went on to hit a fan’s head. Thankfully, despite being quite old, the fan looked okay and a woman was spotted tending to the man.
The incident happened off the fourth delivery of the ninth over when RCB were down with three wickets chasing a big score, and they needed to up the ante. Patidar targeted the long-on region and timed it to perfection with a stunning six that went nearly to the top tier of the stadium. However, the unfortunate moment was the fan getting hurt in the process while Patidar was even shocked by the amount of distance the ball travelled.

Meanwhile, chasing a huge score of 210, RCB had to string a big partnership together which did not happen and they kept losing wickets regularly which affected them massively in the end. Glenn Maxwell and Patidar were the only two to get going and they did keep their side in the hunt for a while.
However, once the duo were dismissed, it was curtains for RCB as they could manage just 155 for 9. Earlier, Jonny Bairstow played a terrific knock at the top of the order with a brutal 66 off 29 deliveries which set the tone for Punjab to post a big score while Liam Livingstone was the top scorer with a 42-ball 70.
With the win, Punjab have moved into the sixth position in the points table with six wins in 12 games, and two wins from here in the remaining games might just push their chances of making it to the playoffs. Punjab will next play the Delhi Capitals which will be a crucial encounter on May 16 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.
