As per the latest developments, Australia will travel India for a three-match T20I series in September. The series will serve as a preparation for the T20 World Cup 2022, which will be hosted by Australia in October-November. It must be noted that the Aussies won the 2021 edition of the competition and hence, will defend their title at home. India, who endured a hard time in last year’s gala competition, would fight for redemption.

Meanwhile, the three-match T20I series will be to watch out for Australia and India are two of the strongest T20I teams going around. While Aaron Finch’s men clinched the global title last year in UAE, the Men in Blue recorded victories in their last 12 T20I matches. Meanwhile, India played three T20Is in Australia in 2020 and walked away with a 2-1 triumph.

Meanwhile, this major report was carried out by foxsports.com.au. “Australia will play a number of white ball series with home games against Zimbabwe, New Zealand, West Indies, and England coming to either side of three T20s in India in September,” read the report.

Australia to tour India for Test series in 2023

It also must be noted that Australia are also set to tour India for four Test matches in February and March next year. Meanwhile, India’s next assignment is a five-match T20I series against South Africa at home, which gets underway June 9 will last till June 19. As the T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in months time, all teams are scheduled to play a plethora of T20 matches and India are no different.

After hosting the Proteas side, India will tour Ireland, England and West Indies for assignments in the shortest format of the game. The Rohit Sharma-led team would like to identify its best combination in these tours and form a formidable squad for the showpiece event. After all, the Men in Blue couldn’t even clear the group stage in last year’s T20 World Cup.
