The Indian Premier League (IPL) has to proved to be the stepping stone for many Indian cricketers. It has not only helped them to get into the national side, but the recognition the tournament has given to the unknown players is also worth considering. Rinku Singh is also one of those players who featured for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise this year and is likely to continue playing for them in the upcoming seasons as well.
The youngster is known for his hard-hitting abilities on the back of which the franchise bagged his services for a whopping amount of Rs 80 Lakhs in the mega-auction earlier this year. Though he could not cause any ripple in the four games he played during the season, Rinku’s catch to dismiss Manish Pandey was termed as one of the tournament’s best.
My dream was to have my own house
Despite not being able to latch on to the limited opportunities in the IPL, Rinku Singh was happy to complete his primary dream of having his own house. Before the tournament, he used to live in a two-room space within a gas distribution company’s storage compound. But now he has built a duplex home and is delighted to fulfil the dream of his family.
“I had to build a house. People were happy when I was selected in the IPL. Now, everything is good. I have a house of my own now. My dream was to provide a better life for my family. I bought a new bike as well,” he said while speaking to Sportstar Live.
Rinku is currently training hard at the KKR academy which is being overlooked by Abhishek Nayar who worked as the mentor of the franchise this year. He thanked Nayar for correcting his stance and feels that it will be helpful for him while batting in the upcoming matches.
