The Indian wicketkeeper of the “babysitter” fame, Rishabh Pant has now become a familiar name all over India and other cricketing nations. Currently, India and Pakistan have been split by hatred once again and for a little bit of time in between another war seemed inevitable. But a hero, of the truest sense, has helped the two nations seek peace again. This hero, named Abhinandan Varthaman is currently the most respectable person in India. His return from Pakistan has been deeply prayed for. One of the billions of Indians paying their respects to the Wing Commander was Rishabh Pant.

Recently, a couple of videos of the Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman went viral on social media. In the one video which is less talked of, he was asked what it takes to make a good fighting pilot. His answer was- A bad attitude. Those many years hence, in the latest video which was released from Pakistan, he was seen handling an immense pressure situation with much ease. The Pakistan army had retrieved Indian Air Force’s Abhinandan and kept him as a hostage, asking him several questions. His composure and nerve under pressure has won hearts across the nation.

To cite his bravery, when he was pressed for more details, he calmly said, “I’m sorry sir…that’s all I’m supposed to tell you.” Even in that situation, he was hinting at the Geneva Convention while he only revealed his service number and recognized himself as a Hindu. Throughout the rest of the interview, he remained impenetrable calmly sipping the tea that was provided to him. Surely, India needs more heroes like him. Yesterday, Imran Khan announced that the Indian Pilot will be released on Friday, March 1.

The entire nation was thrilled by Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan statement that promised Abhinandan Varthaman’s safe return to his home. His parents flew from Chennai to receive their son, in that process the entire flight gave a standing ovation to the brave couple. Amongst many celebrities and cricketers, Rishabh Pant also took to Twitter to salute the bravery of the IAF pilot.  His tweet read, “Welcome back Abhinandan sir, the entire nation is proud of your selflessness and bravery! We salute you 🙏🏻 Jai Hind! #WelcomeHomeAbhinandan”
