2018 ended on a perfect note for Rohit Sharma personally and professionally as well. He made his comeback in Test cricket after almost 11 months batting at number six and then, just after the Boxing Day Test which India won, was blessed with a baby girl. December 30 was a dream day for him and his wife Ritika Sajdeh as they entered a new phase of their life.
Soon after the news broke through, the cricketer left the team to come back home and be with his family. He is missing the ongoing fourth Test against Australia in Sydney and will join back the squad on January 8 ahead of the three-match ODI series down under. This was the only time Rohit had to go back to his family as the Men in Blue are set to play a plethora of limited-overs matches in the next few weeks.
Rohit says Hello with his little one
Rohit Sharma hadn’t expressed anything about becoming a father on social media and was keen on meeting his wife and daughter it seems. However, the cricketer, on Thursday finally gave a glimpse of his new-born baby without revealing her face to the world. He posted the picture of the baby duly holding its mother Ritika’s hand and also Rohit’s hand and hoped to have a superb 2019.
“Well hello world! Let’s all have a great 2019,” the caption of the picture read as the couple seems to be enjoying the parenthood. As soon as the news was made public, a lot of cricketers took to social media to congratulate India’s limited-overs vice-captain and wife and welcomed them to the ‘parents’ club.
With the arrival of his daughter, Rohit will be hoping for more lady luck in his life now and looking forward to making it big at the highest level with India set to play the World Cup this year.
