New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor was left shocked on his arrival at the team hotel in Rajkot. Taylor was amused to see his portrait on the wall. Cricketer being greeted with garlands is a common sight around India but a cricketer is welcomed with his own portrait is something new and it caught former New Zealand, skipper Taylor unaware.

Before the second Twenty 20 International (T20I) in Rajkot Taylor was given a warm welcome which amused the entire visiting team. However, the portrait didn’t show a cheerful face of Taylor and was given an unimpressive caption, ‘Welcome Team New Zealand’. And while his teammates did not express their surprise over the welcome, Taylor made sure to make his feelings public.’

The senior Balck Cap batsman didn’t hide his emotion. He took the Instagram to express his feeling of the welcome given by the hotel management.

“First time to Rajkot. Didn’t expect this photo on arrival at the hotel.??? #Rajkot #India #indvnz,” wrote Taylor. The crafty right-handed recently left fans in splits with his hilarious conversation with former India opener Virender Sehwag on Twitter.

Balck Caps will eye for equaliser

After losing the first T20I by 53 runs at Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi, New Zealand will try to bounce back in the ongoing three-match series to keep their hope alive.

In the first T20I, which was Ashish Nehra‘s farewell match, India batting first posted a mammoth 202 for three, thanks to opener Rohit Sharma and Shikhara Dhawan’s record partnership. New Zealand in reply suffered a big collapse which affected their chase and eventually managed to score 149 in stipulated 20 overs.

While the first T20I will be contested in Rajkot the third and final match of the series will be played at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram which will witness its debut match.
