Royal Challengers Bangalore ranked eighth in sports club with highest social media engagement in 2021

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has the most loyal fanbase than any other cricket franchise in IPL or any other cricket tournament. The team has garnered enough support from its fans both online and offline. RCB’s social media accounts are active throughout the Indian Premier League season and other times of the year.

From January 1 to December 31, 2021, RCB ranked in the eighth position in terms of the highest fan engagement by sports clubs in the world. RCB has beaten the teams like Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, who are the most successful teams in the IPL. CSK is the only other team that features in the top ten teams in terms of fan engagement.

The top five positions have been taken by European football clubs like Manchester United, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, and Chelsea FC. RCB and CSK are the only two cricket clubs in the top ten list.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be gearing up for the IPL 2022 Auction

The mega auction for the next edition of the Indian Premier League is expected to take place in February. The event is likely to be the biggest auction in recent times. The BCCI and IPL governing council allowed all the old eight franchises to retain a maximum of four players. RCB has retained Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj. Several players who performed exceptionally well for the franchise in the past few years including Harshal Patel who won the purple cap last year have been released.

On January 10, BCCI gave a clean chit to the CVC Capital who are the owners of the Ahmedabad team in the IPL. This means that Ahmedabad will take part in the IPL 15. The BCCI might make the official announcement related to the IPL 2022 auction very soon.
