One of the most followed IPL franchises, Royal Challengers Bangalore‘s  official YouTube channel has been hacked, reportedly by a cryptocurrency company named “MicroStrategy”. The franchise, owned by United Spirits, has been an active participant in social media engagements and has committed to dropping videos at the right time for the fans.

Notably, all the videos posted on the channel have also been deleted. Currently. the search panel on the YouTube takes the users to results about the Microstrategy company on searching RCB’s official channel. It has been learnt that MicroStrategy is an intelligence company with has built a software platform to let organizations turn data into powerful BI, AI, ML, and Analytics applications.

This is not the first time that RCB has faced such an issue, as their Twitter account was hacked last year and it took them a few hours for the technical team to restore the account. “Dear 12th Man Army, our Twitter account was compromised a few hours ago and we have now managed to get the access back. We condemn the tweet that the hackers put out and we do not endorse any content from that tweet, which we have now deleted. We regret the inconvenience caused,” the franchise had tweeted after the account was restored.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have had the services of one of India’s best batters to have played the game, Virat Kohli since the 2008 edition and millions of fans has been attached to the franchise emotionally. The franchise is yet to lift the title, despite having come close in three seasons, 2009, 2011 and 2016.

RCB finished third in IPL 2022 after getting knocked out in Qualifier 2 by Rajasthan Royals, and the new skipper Faf du Plessis was quite impressive throughout the campaign. Despite having some match-winners in the lineup this year, RCB will need to come up with a different strategy in next year to end their title drought.

Gujarat Titans won the title this year by clinching the final against the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022 under the leadership of Hardik Pandya.
