Rajasthan Royals leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal came up with an excellent delivery to dismiss David Willey, and in the process, tried putting his side in the driving seat in the 13th match of IPL 2022 against his former franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Faf du Plessis-led side was cruising with 55 for no loss and Chahal straightaway picked up the opponent’s skipper off the final delivery of his first over.

Chahal came back for his second over, and was involved in a splendid run out by Sanju Samson to get the big fish Virat Kohli for just five due to a mix-up. Off the next delivery, Chahal cleaned up Willey with an outstanding legspinner that the batter failed to read with the ball coming back substantially to disturb the stumps. It was a massive moment as RCB had lost Kohli and Willey in a span of two deliveries and were reeling at 62 for 4 in just the ninth over.

Here’s the brilliant delivery from Yuzvendra Chahal

Chahal has done really well for the Royals in the three games that he has played in IPL 2022 so far and RCB would be ruing not retaining him ahead of the mega auction. The 31-year-old has now picked up seven wickets already with Willey’s dismissal and is second in the Purple Cap race at the moment. In the previous game against Mumbai Indians, Chahal was the one who turned the game in favour of the Royals with two wickets in a short span. He, certainly, has the knack of breaking partnerships.

Earlier in the day, the Royals posted 169 on the board in their 20 overs on a tough wicket at the Wankhede Stadium, thanks to another good innings from the Orange Cap holder Jos Buttler who remained unbeaten on 70, while Hetmyer supported him well with a 31-ball 42 as well. However, in the end, a formidable partnership between Dinesh Karthik (44) and Shahbaz Ahmed (45) led RCB to a win against RR.
