India lost the second Test at Centurion. A million hearts shattered. The tricolour’s wait of 25 years stretched. It the end, it was profusely disappointing. India’s past horrors haunted them again as they succumbed to an embarrassing 135 runs defeat in the deciding second Test.

On the other hand, South Africa got the better of the numero uno Test team as they lead the three-match Test series 2-0. The Protea quicks bowled extremely well and lived up to their reputation. Although the pitch didn’t favour much, the South African seamers did well to capitalize on the variable bounce the pitch offered and subsequently decimated India’s batting lineup.

However, an interesting revelation in South Africa’s squad was debutant pacer Lungi Ngidi. Coming in to replace an injured Dale Steyn who picked up an injury in the first test, Ngidi triumphed with 7 wickets on debut in front of his home crowd. Ngidi’s second innings spell, which included six wickets, single-handedly restricted India’s hopes to chase down the target of 287 as the visitors’ lost wickets on a heap and Twitteratti is all praise for the young speedster.

However, Tweeple couldn’t refrain from making some hilarious comments and of course ‘Lungi Dance’ became the trending tweet.

Virat speaks at the post-match conference

Conceding the Test rubber 0-2, skipper Kohli lamented that their batting has let them down. While remarking South Africa’s brilliance in every department, the 29-year-old seemed upset with India’s fielding display as well.

Speaking at the post-match conference, Kohli said, “We have let ourselves down from the first game into the second. The bowlers have done the job but the batsmen have let the team down again and that’s why we stand here.” Kohli rued, “As a team, you want to win collectively. We tried but we weren’t good enough. South Africa was better than us, especially in the fielding department, and that’s why they are the winners. And they deserve to be.”
