Mohammed Shami picked up 2 wickets in the South African 1st innings
Mohammed Shami picked up the wickets of Aiden Markram and Kagiso Rabada in the South African 1st innings. The right-arm pacer bowled 21 overs and leaked 52 runs.
However, the man who grabbed the spotlight was Shardul Thakur. Thakur scalped a 7-wicket haul and bamboozled the South African batters with his guile. South Africa were shot out for a total of 229 in their 1st innings. For the Proteas, Keegan Petersen top-scored with a superb 118-ball 62.
India replied with a total of 85/2, as stumps were drawn on Day 2. Experienced batters Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane are battling it out for the Indian side. Pujara was aggressive in his 42-ball stay out in the middle. He pounced on any loose delivery on offer and scored 35*. Rahane on his part got himself in and scored a 22-ball 11*. India are currently ahead of South Africa by 58 runs.
