SA vs IND: Virat Kohli gives a pep talk to Mohammed Shami during the second day's play

Indian skipper Virat Kohli missed the 2nd Test match between South Africa and India owing to a back spasm. But, that did not stop the legendary cricketer from giving a pep talk to Mohammed Shami on Day 2 of the 2nd Test match.

Kohli was seen having a chat with Mohammed Shami during the 47th over of the South African innings. Shami was standing on the boundary line, and Kohli was seen having discussions with him.

“Clearly can’t keep this guy off a cricket field,” read a tweet from a Twitter handle by name Sonali. You can see the video below.

Mohammed Shami picked up 2 wickets in the South African 1st innings

Mohammed Shami picked up the wickets of Aiden Markram and Kagiso Rabada in the South African 1st innings. The right-arm pacer bowled 21 overs and leaked 52 runs.

However, the man who grabbed the spotlight was Shardul Thakur. Thakur scalped a 7-wicket haul and bamboozled the South African batters with his guile. South Africa were shot out for a total of 229 in their 1st innings. For the Proteas, Keegan Petersen top-scored with a superb 118-ball 62.

India replied with a total of 85/2, as stumps were drawn on Day 2. Experienced batters Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane are battling it out for the Indian side. Pujara was aggressive in his 42-ball stay out in the middle. He pounced on any loose delivery on offer and scored 35*. Rahane on his part got himself in and scored a 22-ball 11*. India are currently ahead of South Africa by 58 runs.
