Sachin Tendulkar shares ICC's 'stand against racism' video featuring Jofra Archer

George Floyd’s death has sparked protests all across the globe, especially in the United States. Everyone is condemning Floyd’s tragic death along with calling out racial abuse around the world. Floyd, an African-American man died after Derek Chauvin, a white police officer, knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes after he was arrested.
Floyd’s death has led to many protests and many people have vented out their anger on social media while supporting the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Over the years, many cricketers have also been at the receiving end of racial comments.
Sachin Tendulkar cites Nelson Mandela’s words
Amid the raging issue of racism across the world, India legend Sachin Tendulkar shared a video featuring England speedster Jofra Archer. The video depicted ICC’s stand against racism. Through the video, the ICC also shared how diversity is important in the sport. Citing Nelson Mandela’s words, the Master Blaster expressed his take on racism in the sport.
“Nelson Mandela once said, ‘Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to unite the world in a way that little else does.’ Wise words,” tweeted Tendulkar along with the video.

The video shared by Sachin has been issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the wake of the raging issue of racial abuse. The video features Archer bowling the enthralling Super Over against New Zealand in the final of 2019 World Cup. England etched their name into the record books by clinching their first-ever World Cup on the rule of boundary count.
Racism has been one of the biggest issues in the sporting world. When a team consists of players with different ethnic regions, colour and caste, they often become the targets of bigots. Many cricketers have also come forward to extend their support over Floyd’s tragic death. West Indies’ Chris Gayle and Darren Sammy have also shared their past experiences of racism in cricket.
