Schedule for opening ceremonies of IPL 10 announced

To celebrate its 10th edition, the IPL will have an opening ceremony in each home ground of the 8 teams.

A landmark 10th edition of the flamboyant Indian Premier League will kick off in Hyderabad on 5th April. Crowds will flock to the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium to enjoy the entertainment that is the opening ceremony before the cricket begins.

However, the IPL organisers want to pull off something incredible this season. To celebrate its 10th edition, the IPL will have an opening ceremony in each home ground of the 8 teams.

Earlier, there were only unconfirmed reports of certain superstars performing in the opening ceremonies. The organisers have however revealed the schedule of the pre-match entertainment and the celebrities who will enthral the audiences.

The first of the string of opening ceremonies, will of course, be held in Hyderabad on 5th April prior to the rematch of last year’s final between RCB and the Sunrisers. Amy Jackson will turn up the heat in Hyderabad with a stellar performance.

“Amy is set to perform and we will also have other regional faces. Apart from that, we could also have a laser show as also we will have the official digital signing of the eight captains and bringing the trophy back into play for this season,” an official of the Hyderabad Cricket Association was quoted as saying to India.com.

Over the next 10 days, Pune, Rajkot, Indore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi will all host an opening ceremony. Riteish Deshmukh will feature in Pune while Tiger Shroff will be performing on his chartbusters in Rajkot.

Bollywood diva Shraddha Kapoor is all set to perform in Kolkata alongside playback singer Monali Thakur. Lastly, the one and only Parineeti Chopra will light up the stage in Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla before the Delhi Daredevils take on the Kings XI Punjab.

The 10th season of the Indian Premier League will see a total of 56 league games before the top four sides clash for two qualifiers and an eliminator. The grand final of the mega-event will be held in Hyderabad on May 21.
