Shahid Afridi not quitting T20 cricket anytime soon, set to play against Windies

Former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi had quit playing international cricket a couple of seasons ago. But his love for the game never ended post his retirement. He continues to ply his trade in the various T20 leagues around the world. Afridi was a top performer for the Karachi Kings in the 2018 edition of the Pakistan Super League. He was also seen entertaining the fans in the St. Moritz Ice Cricket challenger earlier this year.

And now, Afridi was named in the World XI squad that would be taking on the Windies in a one off T20 game at the Lord’s in a couple of weeks. However, a big threat over his participation in the match loomed. He has been sidelined due to an injury concern to his knee.

Many speculated that Shahid Afridi might not play the match. However, the recent social media updates of Afridi confirm that he is fit and is raring to take the field again. In a tweet, he remarked that he has consulted his doctor and is expected to be fine soon. In another update, he directly confirmed that he will be taking the field for the World XI side in the game against the Windies at Lord’s. The news comes as a big delighting news for his fans across the globe.
