Torrential rains and floods have completely the ruined the life of the people in Kerala. The situation in the state continues to be worse as the rain gods aren’t relenting either and the whole country has joined hands to help them in their difficult times. Even the cricketers have time and again urged the people to lend a helping hand in any which way possible. However, Shahid Afridi has also expressed his grief and has offered help via his foundation while hoping that the people will find relief soon.

The death toll due to worst floods in the last 100 years in Kerala has gone past 350 even as the people of other states have joined hands to save almost 3.14 Lakh sufferers. God’s Own Country (as they say for Kerala) is struggling for its existence due to the wrath of nature and this has surely brought whole India together with the help being offered from across the border as well.

Afridi’s tweet

Shahid Afridi is known for his social cause as he, through his Shahid Afridi Foundation, has time and again made sure that he lends a helping hand to the people in trouble. He was deeply saddened to know about the situation in Kerala and was quick to pray to the God for them. The former Pakistan cricketer has also offered his help and has assured the people that he and his foundation are with them in need.

“Deeply saddened by the devastating floods in #Kerala #India. The @SAFoundationN shares your pain & stands with our brothers and sister in need. May Allah ease your sufferings & you find quick relief. #KeralaFloods #SAF #HopeNotOut for Humanity,” his tweet read.

Afridi was due to take part in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as he was signed by Jamaica Tallwahs franchise. But just before the start of the tournament, he pulled himself out of it due to the knee injury which had also troubled him during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) earlier this year.
