After what Shahid Afridi, the former Pakistani captain has revealed about Indian cricketer and now politician Gautam Gambhir, one thing is clear that neither man is going to invite the other for festivities at their homes. After Afridi had called Gautam Gambhir ‘Saryal’ or burnt up in his just-released autobiography Game Changer, Gambhir wasn’t short of retaliatory fire and shots were fired by the former Indian captain via his Twitter account.

Afridi, who made some shocking revelations in his book about his age, his relationship with other players like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Malik and about his Indian counterparts, had some special words to say about Gambhir, with whom he shares a rivalry that dates back to the Asia Cup match way back in 2000s.

The Khyber-born all-rounder, in his book, had called Gambhir a negative person and player. The former Indian opener was quick to answer saying that Afridi should come to India for some psychiatric evaluation, which he will personally arrange for since Indians give visas to Pakistani citizens on medical grounds.

Given the background and history of the two players, everyone knows Afridi was never fond of Gambhir and his aggressive attitude, which multiplied tenfold when India and Pakistan played each other. He mentioned in his book that Gambhir has an attitude problem, had no personality and was barely a character in the great scheme of the game of cricket.

Gambhir had even criticized Afridi way back in 2011 when India defeated Pakistan in the semifinals of the World Cup that year in Mohali and Afridi called Indians small-hearted people. One might have thought that with both players having retired from the international game and going their separate ways afterlife in cricket, Afridi has now fueled the fire with his response to Gambhir’s jab at him.

Noted Pakistani journalist Saj Sadiq of PakPassion.net, quoted Afridi as saying, Shahid Afridi “I think Gautam Gambhir may have some problems. I am working with hospitals and I can get him very good treatment here”

Sadiq further continued, Shahid Afridi “The Indian Government doesn’t normally give visas to our people, but I will welcome everyone from India to Pakistan. Our people and our Government have always welcomed Indians and as for Gautam, I will get a visa arranged so that his treatment can be done here”

This rivalry doesn’t seem to end soon enough as Gambhir is not known for keeping quiet on such a strong jibe, especially on the nation and its government, with him joining the ruling party BJP and getting ready to fight the elections from Delhi. Just wait and watch for his reply.
