The Indian team led by captain Virat Kohli suffered a disastrous and depressing start to the new year after a heavy loss in the first two Test matches against the Proteas. The bitter axioms once again came into their way as they failed to secure their first ever series victory in the rainbow nation. After the terrible outing in the first two Tests, Virat Kohli and his men will now be eyeing to compete in the final match of the series with high spirits and better mindsets.

After enjoying a stunning and spectacular run at home and in the sub-continent region, the overseas tours were expected to be the real challenge and the test of patience for the Indian team. They needed to show their worth and abilities in the alien conditions. But the visitors lost both of their first two overseas Test matches and are now on the verge of being whitewashed for the first time in the history of Indian cricket in the African contingent.

Dhawan vows that India will fight back

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan who was dropped from the side, after failures in both the innings of the first Test match, got very emotional in his latest post on his Instagram account.

He wrote that it feels very sad and dejected when results are not coming in your favour, but also noted at the same time that these things make the team stronger and keep motivated for the hard work and extreme preparation ahead. The southpaw revealed that the team is in full spirits to fight back strongly in the third Test match in Johannesburg from January 24. They would be keenly wanting to end this three-match Test series on a winning note.

“Dil bada dukhta hai jab results apni taraf nahi aate.. par haar bardaash karna bhi zaroori hai aur galtiyon se seekh ke tagda ban na bhi zaroori hai. Mehnat poori kari thi matches ke liye aur hamesha fakar hai apni team pe. Agle match ke liye bhi tyaari jaari hain aur poore dum se ladengey. (It hurts when the result doesn’t come in our favour. However, it’s important to accept the defeat and learn from the mistakes to become stronger. We prepared well for the matches and I always feel proud of my team. Preparations are in full swing and we’ll definitely fight back in Johannesburg),” wrote Dhawan on Instagram.
