Team Pakistan is in a commanding position in the ongoing second Test against Australia in Abu Dhabi. At the end of the day 2 play, Pakistan have assumed supremacy with a lead of 282 runs in the match. The match has seen a dramatic turnaround as the ‘hosts’ were once struggling at 57/5 in the first innings. It was the Pakistani skipper Sarfraz Ahmed who bailed his side out of trouble with a gutsy knock of 92 runs.

Sarfraz’s efforts helped Pakistan post 282 in the first innings before the hosts bundled out the visitors for mere 145. With 144/2 in the second innings, the match only seems to be going in favour of the Pakistani side. The match has already been a topic of discussion for various reasons – be it Nathan Lyon‘s spell on day 1, or be it Australia’s dismal batting.

Amidst the many talking points grabbing the headlines is the performance of skipper Sarfraz Ahmed. It has been an evident story that the Pakistani skipper has been struggling with his personal form with the bat over the last couple of series. Now, after his gritty knock in the ongoing fixture, he oozed confidence in the media conferences.

Shoaib Akhtar sceptical about Sarfraz’s gimmicks

While many looked happy with Sarfraz Ahmed showing such confidence, former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar looked a little sceptical about the episode on the social media. Akhtar took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express his amusement at the way Sarfraz took digs at his critics. He posted another update shortly asserting that the national side skipper should focus on the game.

Akhtar believes that Sarfraz should not pay heed to what goes on in the media and ensure that he keeps all his focus on winning games for Pakistan and performing well on the field.

“I really don’t understand what problems Sarfaraz is talking about on the tv about Kharachi & Lahore !?? Am bit lost hearing from our captain guys…Is he for real..??” he wrote in his tweet.

“Sarfraz should only focus on cricket & should learn how to win games on the field & not off the field. Certain pressure are there as captain but face them as leader & take those pressure as opportunities not as set back ..good luck to greens caps ..” the former pacer added in his second tweet.
