The ongoing FIFA World Cup means a lot to England as they have qualified for the semi-finals and will be locking horns against Croatia on Wednesday. The T20 Blast fixtures on the day have been rescheduled to avoid a clash with the huge game. They are hoping to win the coveted trophy this time but Joe Hart, who was dropped for the mega event was seen playing cricket during their quarter-final clash against Sweden not caring about the result of his team.

Hart failed to make it to the squad for the much awaited World Cup in Russia and was left gutted over the same. He is an experienced player and has donned the jersey for his country on 75 occasions. Many were surprised over his exclusion from the team managed by Gareth Southgate. But as it turned out, the team is doing well under the inspired leadership of Harry Kane and is tipped to win the World Cup this year.

For which team did he play?

Joe Hart turned out for his hometown cricket club Shrewsbury on the same day when England were due to play Sweden in the quarter-final of the tournament. While they managed to breeze past the opposition in the scheduled 90 minutes of play, Hart scored nine runs while batting at number 9 in the line-up. He was playing in the Birmingham League Premier Division match against Knowle and Dorridge.

Apart from his brief contribution with the bat, Hart also took a catch on the field. Interestingly, as a youngster, he used to play cricket for his local club before shifting his focus to Football according to NDTV. Also, British media reports suggest that his club future in Football will also be sorted out soon which should see him playing the game again.
