England invented the game of cricket but the following for Football is substantial in the country as well and the fans are all set to stand by their team in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia. The team led by Harry Kane who is Virat Kohli‘s favourite player is set to play their semi-final of the mega event against Croatia. Meanwhile, the T20 Blast is currently in progress in the busy cricketing summer back home. Two matches would clash with the WC semi-final game and players requested for it to be reworked.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) acted upon it and have been rescheduled it to avoid a clash with the all-important Football game on Wednesday. Yorkshire were set to lock horns against Derbyshire on Wednesday evening. But given the importance of the semi-final and the kind of craze it has evoked in the country, the club has rescheduled the game and will be played on July 30 now. Gloucestershire also preponed their game against Kent as the match will now be played in the afternoon rather than evening as per to the earlier schedule.

The tussle between England and Croatia will begin at 7 PM, UK time and if they manage to qualify for the final then expect the matches on July 15 to reschedule as well. Warwickshire will face the challenge from Durham in Birmingham while Worcestershire are set to host Yorkshire on Sunday.

State of the tournament so far

The tournament has just begun on July 6 and most of the teams have played at least 2 matches so far while a few have also featured in three encounters. Sussex are leading currently with two wins in as many matches in South Group and they would like to continue the winning momentum going forward.

As far as the North Group is concerned, Worcestershire have grabbed the honours with 6 points. There is a long way to go still in this season and expect the teams to try hard to qualify for the knockouts.
