England pacer Ollie Robinson was seen wearing a mismatched pair of shoes in the ongoing first Ashes Test in Edgbaston, Birmingham. Recently, the seamer suffered a discomfort in his left-ankle during the County Championship match against Glamorgan in the lead up to the Ashes series. However, he received the green signal from the medical staff to feature in the first red-ball clash against the Aussies.

During the contest, Robinson was seen with two different boots which garnered quite a lot of attention. It could be due to the injury he sustained in his left-ankle prior to the series, however, nothing is confirmed.

Speaking about the match, the Aussies concluded their batting innings with a score of 386 runs. In the process, England got a seven-run lead before heading for Lunch on Day 3. Notably, Usman Khawaja’s brilliant 321-ball 141 kept Australia nearly at par with the Three Lions. His innings featured 14 boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of 43.92.

With an umbrella field set by Ben Stokes to dismiss the southpaw, Khawaja’s solid knock came to when Robinson delivered a terrific yorker which the Aussie batter made some room to drive inside-out. However, with the pressure piling up, Khawaja’s off-stump was dislodged with a pearler. Robinson returned a three-wicket haul for 55 runs in his 22.1 overs at an economy of 2.48.

Meanwhile, seasoned pacer Stuart Broad too got three scalps under his belt whereas Moeen Ali added two to his account. With a lead of seven runs, the English side will look to push through in the third innings and will be gunning to post a solid target to stay one step ahead of the Aussies.
