Asian Games 2023: Star India shuttler PV Sindhu shares 'Very Very Special' image with India men's head coach Laxman

Amidst the ongoing Asian Games in China, the ace badminton star, PV Sindhu, met the former Indian cricketer and head coach of Team India cricket team, VVS Laxman. Laxman is currently with the second string men's squad who will soon start their campaign in Hangzhou city. In the same vein, post their meeting, the badminton star took to her social media to share an image. Notably, Sindhu did not fail to mention indirectly about the historic Test knock of 281 runs which Laxman had played against Australia in Kolkata.

Interestingly enough, not only does Sindhu feel like it is a proud moment for her to meet the legendary figure but the Australian batter David Warner too did not shy away from commenting on her post. Notably, both the athletes, albeit, in different games, hail from the same city and Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Sindhu posted their image on Sunday, October 1.

"Very very special Laxman!! Meeting this legend of Indian cricket in the most unlikeliest of places. Can never forget his heroics in the 4th innings many times over!! Lovely to catch up with you Anna (brother) like always,” Sindhu wrote on her Instagram handle while her photograph.

Thereafter, David Warner on noticing her post, came forward to comment on her image with VVS Laxman.

"The man the legend himself," Warner commented.

India Men's cricket team to kickstart their Asian Games 2023 campaign in the Quarterfinal round 

Meanwhile, speaking of the ongoing Asian Games, the Cricket competition for Men for the Quarterfinal stage will commence on October 3. The top teams as per the ICC rankings in the shortest format that is the T20Is had earlier earned a direct qualification to play in the knockout round. Courtesy of which, on Tuesday the Men in Blue will be in action at the Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field in Hangzhou city of China.

Post the quarterfinals, the semifinal and final will take place on October 6 and October 7, at the same venue. Now, going by the recent events in the Asian Games 2023, the Indian Women's team came out on top with flying colours when they defeated Sri Lankan Women in what was a close encounter to clinch their maiden Gold medal in the sport. Hence, the Indian men's team led by Ruturaj Gaikwad will be eager to dominate the proceedings and will hope to make it a Gold double just like their female counterparts.
