Marizanne Kapp, the star South African medium-fast bowler, startled Australia by removing batter Beth Mooney with an outstanding inswinger in the second ODI of their ongoing series on Wednesday, February 7, at the North Sydney Oval in New South Wales. Mooney, who came out to bat in a 45-over-a-side encounter to chase a 234-run target, started with a dot ball. The Proteas star pitched the ball between full and good length, and it swung into the left-hander, resulting in the dismantling of the middle stump in the third delivery of the fifth over.

Mooney went back for a two-ball duck, leaving Australia at 22/2 after 4.3 overs. Notably, Kapp opened the bowling for South Africa, and on the first delivery of the fifth over, she sent Australia captain Alyssa Healy back to the pavilion, with Sinalo Jafta taking a catch behind the stumps.

Kapp resumed her onslaught, dismissing Phoebe Litchfield LBW on the first ball of the seventh over of the game. The Australian opener failed to figure out Kapp's delivery and was removed for 14 runs. Notably, the 34-year-old concluded with excellent figures of 3/12 in her five-over spell.
