Bangladesh took the series 2-1, however, it was the Indian side that came out with a huge statement in the final ODI at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Earlier, Bangladesh opted to bowl first after winning the toss and India adopted an attacking mindset from ball one. Although Shikhar Dhawan perished early for an eight-ball three, Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli stitched a huge partnership of 290 runs and took India to a fantastic win.

Kishan, in particular, was the aggressor and he got to his maiden century in no time. The Bangladesh bowlers had no answers to the assault from the youngster who left the fans and the cricketign fraternity in awe. In fact, Kishan did not stop there and kept notching up runs while Kohli gave him the much-needed support from the other end.

The left-hander kept sendign the ball for boundaries with ease and got to a brilliant double century in just 126 balls to record the fastest-ever double ton in the history of ODI cricket. The 24-year-old's marvellous innings came to an end in the 36th over with the score reading 305 on the board, and him scoring 210 of those runs himself.

Virat Kohli, who was dropped earlier by Litton Das, slowly got into the groove and reached his 44th ODI ton to end his century drought in the 50-over format. Sundar’s 37 off 27 balls alongside Axar’s 17-ball 20 helped India reach a daunting total of 409 for 8 in their 50 overs quota.

Bangladesh crumble, miss the series whitewash opportunity

Bangladesh in reply were all out for just 182 as a combined bowling effort from the Indian side was enough to wrap up the opposition batters. Shakib Al Hasan was the top scorer for the Bangladesh side with 43(50) while Shardul Thakur picked up three wickets for India. The 227-run defeat turned out to be the largest for Bangladesh against any opponent in ODIs.
