Former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh has taken a dig at England's pacer Stuart Broad for his remark over India's victory against England Women in the third and final ODI match played at the Lord's Cricket Ground on September 24 (Saturday).

The Women in Blue scripted history as they registered their first-ever ODI series clean sweep over England on English soil after winning the final ODI match by 16 runs. However, Deepti Sharma's run-out of Charlie Dean became the talking point of the match.

The game was evenly poised, with the home team needing just 17 runs to win off 40 balls and India requiring just one wicket to seal the series. It was Deepti Sharma who showed her presence of mind to run Charlie Dean out at the non-striker's end, as the latter was backing too far.

The run out did not go down well with the English fans and supporters and Stuart Broad also felt the same. The right-arm pacer took to Twitter to express his frustration.

"A run out? Terrible way to finish the game": Broad wrote on Twitter

Meanwhile, former India cricketer Ganesh gave a stunning reply to Broad, who had famously stood his ground despite nicking the ball to Michael Clarke at first slip in the first Ashes Test (2013) at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Ganesh said that Chris Broad must enlighten his son regarding the laws of the game.

"Nicking the ball to first slip and standing your ground as if nothing happened, is actually terrible. A Run-out isn't. I guess, match Referee Chris Broad needs to educate his son on the laws of cricket," Ganesh replied to Broad's tweet.

Team India's skipper Harmanpreet Kaur also supported Deepti for her presence of mind. "I thought you will ask about the first nine wickets because they were also not easy to take. I don't think we have done something new. What I feel is, that shows your awareness of what the batters are doing. I will back my player because I don't think she has done something which is not in the ICC rules," said Harmanpreet during the post-match presentation ceremony.
