The 17th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will feature a fiery clash between the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings and the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday, April 12.
Both sides have a plethora of talented individuals in their lineups, and fans are buzzing with excitement as they wait to see some of the best players from the tournament go against each other in the heavyweight clash.
Ahead of the game, Rajasthan Royals took to Twitter to share a picture of compatriots Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler posing together. They captioned the picture, "Different colours, same bond."
Both Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler share the dressing room in their national team, as both are well-established stars of England. Furthermore, Stokes also used to play for Rajasthan Royals until 2021, and now the star English all-rounder will don Chennai’s jersey to compete against the Sanju Samson-led side.
Both teams aim to register third win of the IPL 2023
So far, Rajasthan Royals have been in good form in the IPL 2023. The 2022 finalists have played three games so far, two of which they have won, and their only loss came against the Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings.
The side will be keen on registering their third win of the season as they take on Chennai Super Kings in Chepauk next. On the other hand, the four-time champions are recovering quite nicely from their horrid IPL 2022 campaign, where they finished ninth in the IPL points table.
After losing the season opener to Gujarat Titans, Chennai won their next two games to get back into the groove. Defeating them will be no easy task for Rajasthan, especially at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. It could be interesting to see how the visitors fare against Chepauk’s yellow army. The Sanju Samson-led team will have to be at the top of their game if they want to come out victorious.
